Case Study: High Peak Borough Council
ACROBAT Consulting & Marketing undertook a detailed research programme to determine the 'need' for a new indoor leisure centre in Buxton.
A preferred location was favoured by 49% of respondents who took part in the public consultation about the future of Buxton's leisure facilities. We investigated the views of 20,000 households, current Buxton pool users and authoritative bodies throughout the catchment area. A complete range of research methodologies were employed including online, forums, postal and clipboard.
A total of 3,479 surveys were returned. Members are now discussing the results and considering the next stage in developing Buxton's provision.
Councillor John Pritchard, High Peak Borough Council's Executive Member for Community and Social Development, said: "I want to thank everyone who took the time to complete the consultation forms, and express their views. Statistically, it is quite clear that a new centre at Temple Fields is by far the favoured option at this stage."
