ACROBAT Consulting was employed to assist JDA Architects in its bid to The Frank Whittle Partnership which was managing the tender process. We advised on the Submission wrote sections of the Bid, brought in additional resources to the team and attended the presentation.
The purpose was to appoint architects for the design and advice to RIBA Stage D pertaining to the proposed new stadium (circa £3.5M capital cost) at Ten Acres Lane, Newton Heath in Manchester. The Stadium expected to have a capacity of around 5,000 up to 750 seats. It also, to illustrate minimum requirements for Football League 2 Stadia.
After much deliberation, the Client came second just missing out on the award of this Contract, but both The Frank Whittle Partnership and FC United have since approached ACROBAT independently for potential, subsequent work.
FC United is a co-operative which runs on a 1 member 1 vote system. The Club was formed in 2005 by Manchester United FC’s supporters following Malcolm Glazer’s takeover.
