Hats Off Billy
Huddersfield Town FC has commissioned ACROBAT Consulting & Marketing on several recent projects. The common theme for this current Division 1 Team is our fundraising consultancy.
One particular specialism on which our consultants' advice has ben sought is the preparation, production and submission of bids to appropriate funding bodies that might 'bring to life' some of the treasured artifacts from byegone years and commemorative developments to bestow pride on the heritage of the Town and its Football Club. A key feature in the exhibits is to be the items formerly owned by "Billy Smith".
He is one of Huddersfield's all-time goal-scorers with 126 goals in his career between 1913 and 1934. He scored Huddersfield's winning goal in the 1922 FA Cup Final against Preston North End at Stamford Bridge. In these so called "Goalden Years" - the Club retained the League Championships in three consecutive years (the first to do so - now only equalled by Manchester United FC, Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC).
