ACROBAT was delighted to have been responsible for compiling a successful bid to Sport England for Adactus Housing, whilst under a retainer with FC United of Manchester (FCUM).
The Project devised collaboration between this housing group and FCUM to develop activities that would engage local people and increase participation in sport. The main partners are: FCUM, Little Ancoats Juniors, Miles Platting FC, Park View Primary School., New East Manchester (regeneration company in East Manchester) and ZEST (Manchester City Council's Healthy Living Project).
Miles Platting is an area of Manchester with limited participation in sport and football. The Project is to increase participation of children and adults engaging in football. The outcomes sought are that more children from Miles Platting participate in football and develop at least one team to play in an affiliated league. FCUM was an ideal partner with its’ proven record of working in local communities and encouraging social cohesion and quality assurance for sustained physical activity.
The Neighbourhood Development Officer, Adactus Housing Association said: "I would like to thank Adrian Stores and FC United for all of their help with putting the bid together...Adrian must take the credit for writing the winning bid and FC United kindly allowed Adrian to work with us free of charge. A big thank you!"
